So I wanted to share with you all a great video about character design we will go over next class. Despite how cartoony the designs of early dragon ball are, the fundamentals it imparts are still applicable to realistic design. It's a great video detailing the traits to making a memorable and iconic character.
REMEMBER! Everything from posing to details such as hair styles to the shapes used to create the character factor into showing the audience just who the character is. The main goal of a character designer is to create that story just by the visual cues alone.
MAKE A LIST of traits that you want the character you're creating to have so if you don't feel that way for the character then it's probably not a strong character design. It's what makes Dragon Ball characters so memorable!
